Or more specifically, Mommy has been busy. Only 3 weeks until the career change plus this is the busiest time of year at work. Fun.
This big news last week was JD's preschool had a graduation ceremony. They have tiny caps and gowns, get diploma and have tassels with 2009 on them. This is a group of kids most of whom have been together since they were infants. It was adorable.
After JD spent the night with MawMaw and PawPaw. Mommy and Daddy went out on a double date and had a nice time. The rest of the week-end was pretty low key.
We decided to officially start teaching JD to read. He has been showing some signs of reading readiness. He's been rhyming for a while but recently started grasping phonics. I got a little set of books and flash cards that combines phonics and sight reading. Our first sight words are A and AND. We are also resorting to bribes and told him that he could pick out whatever toy he wanted when he learned to read. (Although this isn't high pressure. We don't have a time line in mind) We are going to do homeschool when we get home where mommy and daddy are the teachers. he gets really excited about mommy and daddy being the teachers.
I also asked him if he want to start sunday school again or if he wanted to keep coming to church with us. He informed me that he definitely would prefer sunday school, immediately. He'll have to wait another month probably, but sign-up will be soon.

Next time you are at our house, he should watch Ander's LeapFrog videos with him. They are fun and great for phonics!
