Texas

Friday we all ducked out early, packed up the car and headed west. First stop on our tour was Maw Maw and Paw Paw’s house for a quick pit stop.


Then it was off to the Village Creek State Park in Texas which was North of Beaumont. We had a nice stop there for the night. It was perfect weather so we left the rain flap off the tent and slept under the stars.

Saturday was up and at them and off to the Texas Renaissance Festival. JD and Daddy rode a camel, JD and I rode the giant swings. We saw the Fire Whip show, the Birds of Prey show and the Dead Bob Show. I wanted to go see the joust but JD pooped out mid-afternoon. So we headed off to our hotel, showered and changed then met with friends for Dinner. We had a lovely time.

Sunday was more visiting with a reunion of my suitemates from LSMSA over brunch. We had a lovely time visiting. Then it was back in the car. We made another brief stop at Maw Maw and Paw Paw’s house on the way home.   I’m beat.

We would have liked to visit Auntie Andi as well, but she was in Austin for the Austin City Limits music Festival.

JD said the best part of the trip was the Hotel because he got to see Ice Age on the TV…
