Mid Advent update

Our holiday activities are starting to pick up quite a bit in addition to are regularly scheduled programming. This is nice but also a problem since I need a lot of home time in the evenings to rest and recuperate. We had morning mass for first Friday, Daddy took photos at the Winter Wine down (benefitting the MDA), Snow, a KC Christmas party, Karate, Feast of the Immaculate Conception and craft night. Last night was my first evening at home since Saturday and we still had to go run some errands.
This week-end Christmas is going to explode into our lives with the city’s festival of lights and the Santa road show at the park (both tonight), a birthday party, a Christmas parade, Breakfast with Santa at Church and the Called to be a Mom Christmas Party.
I’ve fallen very behind on my Jesse tree ornaments but something’s gotta give (next week is not looking any better!)
A flier about YMCA basketball was sent home a few weeks ago. JD and I talked about it a little bit at the time. Since then, JD regularly asks when basketball starts, because he’s going to play, “… on a team, mommy.” So, I signed him for basketball. Not YMCA basketball though, I went for the low pressure -inclusive, co-ed, non-competitive- league.
At school, they had the Santa’s secret shop this week. I have good memories of this experience from my own childhood so we gave JD a pretty generous allowance to buy gifts for Christmas. He bought presents for Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Maw maw, Paw paw, Parrain, Alex and Kyle.
